As I think about it, I have been enjoying Laudermilch’s Meats for over 40 years now. Although I no longer live close by, I make it a point to stop in whenever I get a chance so I can get my family some tastes from my childhood. The bone-in stuffed pork chops are still my go-to when my Mom asks me what I want for my birthday dinner. Sometimes it’s good that some things never change!
I grill or smoke all of my family’s meals. No other retailers product compares. My favorite is Porterhouse, custom cut at 1 1/2”. I smoked some Short Ribs the other evening that were out standing. From thick cut Bacon to skinless boneless chicken thighs, it’s difficult to find somewhere better. Great cold salads, and cheeses as well.
I have enjoyed Laudermilch's meats and other foods for over 70 years, and they come any better than theirs. I grew up eating their products and after graduating from LVC, getting married and moving several different places, Dick and I have not found a shop to compare in the quality of their meats and other foods. We wish we could make a weekly stop at their shop. Dick makes a wicked wet bottom shoofly pie, but theirs comes very close to his. I'm hungry for some after writing this review. I wonder if they can mail the pies----I must find out.
Best stuffed pork chops you will ever eat. I bought six and put them in a cooler and took them home to Virginia!
I love this place!! A good butcher is hard to find. I live out of state but stop in every chance I get. Laudermilichs fresh scrapple and pan pudding are fantastic, as is their double smoked bacon! Beats anything you'd try to buy comparable at the chain grocery stores. Always worth paying for quality!!!
Laudermilch's staff was so kind to me when I was stuck by Giant's PeaPod service out of Camp Hill, with no turkey for Thanksgiving. They ran out, had nothing to substitute. I don't walk well. I can't
walk into a grocery store. I was hunting a small shop where I could park close and walk in. These groceries were not even for me, but for a family having a personal crisis that I was trying to help.
Laudermilch's staff kindly sold me a turkey breast on a Monday out of the side door, bringing it to my car door and running the credit card. They listened to my plight and had no trouble fixing it
for me. I used to be a customer a long time ago, but I am only in the Lebanon area to work on Mondays. So I have not been a regular customer in years, and they would not have had to make this extra
effort. Thank you. The family had their traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Proof once again that a corporate employee, like at the Giant, just has no recourse to fix an obvious problem.
The baked oatmeal (cherry version is my favorite) is a great breakfast item. It seems to be a little less sweet than the packaged instant oatmeal.
The chicken on sticks is also a favorite. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.
